To have similar triangles there are usually at least four things marked.  To establish if the triangles are similar you need to have two angles that have the same measure, or two sides that have the same measure, or a right angle in both triangles.

Once you have those clues you can set up relationships (fractions) where side/angle is equal to corresponding side/ angle in the two triangles.

Then you can cross multiply and solve for the missing part.
