-5-(3^2+2)

3^2=3*3=9

9+2=11

-5-11=(- 5) +(- 11)= - 16

subtracting a number is the same as adding its opposite
-11=+(-11)
Example: 2 - 5 = 2+(-5)= - 3
any time
