if a regular triangle is 41 inches tall, how long is each side
i need to know the measurements for each side of the regular
(equilateral triange) if it is 41 inches tall

Because it is an equilateral triangle, with one side the height,
the hypotenuse is x, and the remaining side is 1/2 x. We use
those values in equation x^2 = a^2 + b^2

x^2 = 41^2 + (0.5x)^2
x^2 - (0.5x)^2 = 41^2
x^2 - 0.25x^2 = 41^2
0.75x^2 = 1681
x^2 = 1681/0.75
x^2 = 2241.3333
x = ±√2241.3333
We can ignore the negative value; the length has to be positive.
x = 47.34 inches

Checking:
47.34^2 = 41^2 + 23.67^2
2241.08 = 1681 + 560.27
2241.08 ≈ 2241.27
That symbol means "approximately equal to." There were a lot
of rounding errors.
