-3(2a - 4)   This is a multiplication or distribution question.  What you are looking at is

(-3) * (2a - 4)  you distribute the -3 across the terms in the parenthesis.

-3 * 2a - (-3) * 4

-6a + 12

-6a + 12 = 90a + 30 + _______
