-6.5r+15=-9.7+43.8

Add 43.8 to -9.7 to get 34.1. -6.5r+15=34.1

Since 15 does not contain the variable to solve for, move it to the right-hand side of the equation by subtracting 15 from both sides. -6.5r=-15+34.1 Add 34.1 to -15 to get 19.1. -6.5r=19.1

Divide each term in the equation by -6.5. -(6.5r)/(-6.5)=(19.1)/(-6.5)

Cancel the common factor of -6.5. r=(19.1)/(-6.5)

Simplify the right-hand side of the equation by simplifying each term.

r=-2.94
