x^2-11x+24=0

zeroes...x=2.75 +- 2.1065374i  (komplex numbers)

b^2-4ac=-71 & sqrt(71)=8.426149773

-b/2a=2.75

QUESTION: factor the expression. x^2 - 11x +24.

Look at the factors of the constant 24. They are - (1,24), (2,12), (3,8), (4,6).

And the factors (3,8) add up to the coefficient of the x-term. So we use those.

Answer: (x - 5)(x - 8)
