Egbert charges a fixed rate plus an hourly rate to bill clients.  The ordered pair (3,100) indicated that it costs $100 for a job that is 3 hours work.  He charges $190 for 13 hours of work.

  1. Find the slope between these two points.
  2. Find the y-intercept
  3. Write a linear equation to represent this scenario where x is the number of hours and y is the total charges.
  4. Use the equation to find out how much he would charge for 6 hours of work.
  5. How many hours would result in a total charge of $172?

????????????????????????? "represent this scenario" ????????????????

me did NOT vote for mister "scenario" so him dont represent me

data points...(3,100) 7 (13,190)

deltax=10, deltay=90

slope=deltay/deltax=9

y=9x+konst

projekt line from x=3 tu x=0...deltax=-3, deltay=slope*deltx=9*(-3)=-27

y at x=0...100-27=73

y=9x+73
