im assuming 3 1/6 is a mixed fraction? we convert it into a fraction by multiplying 3 by 6 and then adding 1 which is 19/6.

14/9 + 19/6 = least common deminator is 18.

18 goes into 2 twice, 14 x 2 = 28

18 goes into 6, 3 times 3x19 = 57

(57+28)/18 = 85/18

85/18 is your answer
