6 x^2 - 5x = 4

6x^2 - 5x - 4 = 0 subtract 4 from both sides

use the quadratic formula

a = 6 , b = -5 , c = -4

y = [-b + or - sqrt( b^2 -4ac)]/2a

y = [5 + or - sqrt(25 - 4* 6 * (-4))]/ 2 * 6

y = [5 + or - sqrt(25 - 96)]/12

y = [5+or - sqrt(-71)]/12

there is no real solution because of the sqrt of a negative number
