Hi Alexis,

You can follow following steps for this question:

5x+2 > 3x+10

Now, subtract 2 on both sides of the equation, we get,

5x > 3x+8

Now, subtract 3x fron both sides of the equation,

5x - 3x > 3x + 8 -3x

So, we are left with,

2x > 8

Now dividing by 2 on both sides of the equation,

2x/2 > 8/2

x > 4. This is the solution.

Inequality Problem: 5x+2>3x+10

You want all the variables and numbers to go to one side or the other.

Step 1: 5x+2>3x+10    *Text: Subtract two the other side. So if you do that...10-2=8...Drop Everything Down
                 (-2)     (-2)
 Your left with this: 5x>3x+8:

Step 2: 5x>3x+8 *Text: Just simply get the 3x to other side by subtracting like this *5x-3x*
            (-3x)     (-3x)
So if we subtract 5 by 3 the answer equals 2. Leave the x attatched. Again drop everything down
        2x>8

Step 3: Divide the 8 by 2x to get the x on the other side of the equation.

2x/2>(8x/2)

2x/2=x
8/2=4

Answer is x>4 *Leave the sign alone*
