1). x+2y+z=1

2). 3x-y    = 2

3).2x+y-z  =2

4).x+2y+2z=1

using equations 1) and 4):   subtract 4) from 1)

  1). x + 2y + z = 1

- 4)-( x + 2y - z = 1)

1) - 4) = 2z = 0: z = 0

restate original equations:  plug in z = 0

1). x+2y+z=1:  1a).  x + 2y = 1

2). 3x-y = 2:     2a). 3x - y = 2

3).2x+y-z =2    3a). 2x + y = 2

4).x+2y+2z=1  4a). x + 2y = 1

using 2a) and 3a): add 3a) from 2a)

  2a).     3x - y = 2

+ 3a). + 2x + y = 2

2a - 3a): 5x = 4; x = 4/5

we know that z = 0, x = 4/5; use equation 4 to get y:

4)  4/5 + 2y + 0 = 1

2y = 1 - 4/5

y = (-2/5)/2

y = (-2/5)*(1/2) = -2/10
