10 =( (2 + x) / 5) ^3

10^(1/3) = (2+x)/5                         take the cube root of both sides of the equal sign

2.15 = (2+x)/5

2.15 * 5 = 2 + x                             multiply both sides by 5 ...

10.77 = 2 + x

8.77 = x                                        subtract 2 from both sides ...
