4^(x+3)=16^(x-2)

4^(x + 3) = 4 ^ 2(x - 2)

since they are the same root we can solve for the exponents

x + 3 = 2(x - 2)

x + 3 = 2x - 4

3 = 2x - x - 4

x = -4 - 3

x = -7
