2-3(x-5)=3+(x-1)
I keep coming up with different answers.
Can you show me the correct steps?

2 - 3(x - 5) = 3 + (x - 1)
2 - 3x + 15 = 3 + x - 1
17 - 3x = 2 + x
17 - 3x - 2 = 2 + x - 2
15 - 3x = x
15 - 3x + 3x = x + 3x
15 = 4x

4x = 15
4x / 4 = 15 / 4
x = 15/4
x = 3.75

Don't forget to plug that value into the original
equation to see if it works.

2 - 3(x - 5) = 3 + (x - 1)
2 - 3(3.75 - 5) = 3 + (3.75 - 1)
2 - 3(-1.25) = 3 + (2.75)
2 + 3.75 = 5.75
5.75 = 5.75

It checks.
