What is x in this equation equal
6x^2+1=5x
thanks

6x^2 + 1 = 5x
6x^2 - 5x + 1 = 0

Use the quadratic formula.

      - b ± √(b^2 - 4ac)
x = ----------------------
                2a

      - (-5) ± √((-5)^2 - 4(6)(1))
x = ----------------------
                2(6)

      5 ± √(25 - 24)
x = --------------------
              12

      5 ± √(1)
x = ----------
        12

      5 ± 1
x = -------
        12

      5 + 1                     5 - 1
x = -------     and   x =  --------
        12                          12

       6                          4
x = ----      and   x =  ------
      12                       12

x = 1/2   and   x = 1/3
