x^ + 7x + 10 =0
HELP me try to figure this problem out

I don't like to make assumptions, but it seems
that the first term is supposed to be x^2.

x^2 + 7x + 10 = 0

Factoring the left side, we get

(x + 5) (x + 2) = 0

One or both of those factors must be zero.

x + 5 = 0
x = -5

also

x + 2 = 0
x = -2
