A = 1/2(b)(h)

Compare 1/2(1)(1) to 1/2(2)(1/2).

They are the same.

A = 1/2 * B * H formula for area of a triangle

question states that the base B is doubled and

H is cut in half

A = 1/2 (2B) (1/2H)

A = B (1/2H)

A = 1/2 * B * H

the are of the triangle stays the same no change

This is a simple question from an online college course that someone feels the need to go to the internet to obtain an answer for.  If they look up the formula, substituted numbers in the formula and compared the results for themselves, they would have the answer.

The method of going to the internet to obtain an answer is both lazy and academically dishonest.

I completely agree. Math does not come easy to everyone. And I was looking for something to help me with the discussion part of the question not the actual math part. Why is everyone so hypocritical. And you would not even know we were asking unless you came here to do the same thing! So why are you at this page?

A=1/2(b)(h)   ------>  A=1/2(2b)(1/2h)

                                   1/2(2)(1/2) = 1/2

                                    A=1/2(b)(h)

Therefore, the areas are the same.
