3x-2y squared
can you show me the steps and explain please

3x-2y squared means 3x-2y multiplied by itself
(3x-2y) * (3x-2y)

Generically, this can be shown as (a + b) * (c + d)
The a, b, c and d are only place holders so I can
refer to positions in the operation.

Multiply the value in the a position by the value in
the c position.
Multiply 3x by 3x     3x * 3x = 9x^2

Multiply the value in the b position by the value in
the c position.
Multiply -2y by 3x     -2y * 3x = -6xy

Multiply the value in the a position by the value in
the d position.
Multiply 3x by -2y     3x * -2y = -6xy

Multiply the value in the b position by the value in
the d position.
Multiply -2y by -2y     -2y * -2y = 4y^2

You now have this:

9x^2 - 6xy - 6xy + 4y^2

9x^2 - 12xy + 4y^2
