why does 8 divided by 2/3 exactly equal to half of the answer to 8 divided 1/3?

I know how to do the math, but I cannot find the words to explain why 8 divided by 2/3 is exactly half of the answer to 8 divided by 1/3....explain in words...please

8 / (2/3)=(3/2)*8=1.5*8=12

8 /(1/3) =3*8=24.....=2*12
