5(2x-7)=33-3(6x+4)
5(2x-7)=33-3(6x+4)
first you do the left side. USE DISTRIBUTIVE PROPERTY. you multiply 5 times 2x which =10x.(you have to leave the x bc you dont know what it is yet but you combine the #s you know first.) Then you multiply
10x-35=33-3(6x+4)
10x-35=33-3(6x+4)
Then do the same steps but do it do 3(6x+4). USE DISTRIBUTIVE PROPERTY.
10x-35=33-18x-12
since you have 2 #s that have x with it combine( add ) those two #s.
10x+18x=35+33-12
28x=68-12
28x=56
x=56 <-- NOT THE ANSWER! Now its simple algebra. you wanna get rid of the 28 so you have x alone. To do get rid of 28 is to add a -28.
-28+28x=56
That leave you with only x. But what you did to one side, you have to do to the other side. so do 56-28.
x=56-28
x=28
now all your left with is 28 so x=28!
Hope this helped with the explaining and everything.
