2/3x=-5/2y+2
How do you write this equation in standard form
An equation (of a straight line) in standard form is like this.
ax + by = c
the x-term and y-term are both on the lhs and the constant term is by itself on the rhs.
When our equation is
2/3x = -5/2y + 2
We can write this as,
2/3x + 5/2y = 2
It is now in standard form, but we can "pretty it up" by gettting rid of the fractions.
Multiply both sides by 6. This gives us.
4x + 15y = 12
