67 can go into 330 nearly 5 times. One way to find out is to see how many times we can take away 67 from 330:
once: 330-67=263
twice: 263-67=196
3 times: 196-67=129
4 times: 129-67=62
62 is too small to take away 67, so 67 goes into 330 4 times and 62 remainder.
4*67=268 and 330-268=62. When we want to divide 330 by 67 we estimate what the answer is going to be by making the arithmetic simpler. Change 67 to 70, because 67 is nearly 70 and 70 is easier to divide by, to make an estimate, then we have 330/70, and because both numbers end in zero we just remove the zeroes, so now we have 33/7 and if we know the 7 times table well enough, we know that 7 goes into 33 4 times because 4*7 are 28. So we guess that 67 goes into 330 about 4 times, and we would be right. To multiply 67 by 4, we break it down. 4*7=28, so we write 8 and carry 2 into the tens. Now we multiply 4*6=24 and add the 2 carried over: 24+2=26, so the answer is 268, as we saw earlier. When we have a hard piece of division we try to make it simpler by making the numbers easier to divide, and then we can make a rough estimate and try and see if the estimate is right. Or, of course, we can use a calculator! But it's always best to use your head first! Note that 330 divided by 67 is written 330/67 not 67/330.
Another way we could have estimated is to just chop off the last digit of each number so 330 becomes 33 and 67 becomes 6, so we divide 33 by 6 and get 5. 5*67=335 which is bigger than 330, so we know our estimate was close, but too large, so we go from 5 to 4 and try again.
I hope this helps you to find division a little easier.
