It costs $34.95 to rent a jet ski for 4 hours plus $15.75 for each each additional hour you have $100 can you rent the jet ski for 8 hours?

Rent a ski jet for X hours

Cost of rental is 34.95 + 15.75*(X - 4)

We want cost <= 100, i.e.

34.95 + 15.75*(X - 4) <= 100

15.75*(X - 4) <= 100 - 34.95

15.75*(X - 4) <= 65.05

X - 4 <= 65.05 / 15.75

X - 4 <= 4.13

X <= 8.13 hrs

So, the jet-ski can be rented for less that $100 if the number of hours rental is less than 8

Check

8 hrs rental

Cost = 34.95 + 4*17.75 = 34.95 + 63 = 97.85 < 100
