You missed the point, muneepenee. You're right if you assume that each camel can only be tied to one pole. Tying a camel to two poles is the clue. You need to think laterally!

The question amounts to: the sum of 9 odd numbers is 100. An odd number can be written 2x+1. So 9 of these would give us 9 plus an even number. Take 9 off 100 and we're left with 91. But it's an odd number and the sum of a set of even numbers is always even. So it must be a trick question. Therefore some camels must be tied to more than one pole. If we attach 11 camels to each pole we have 99 camels and one unattached. We attach the last camel to a pole making one pole contain 12 camels then we attach a camel already attached to a pole to the pole with 12 camels making 13 camels. So one camel is attached to two poles.
