Different types of polynomial functions are often used to model real world scenarios. Take, for instance, the height of a model rocket in feet after t seconds after being launched into the air. The height of a particular model rocket is modeled by 100t² - 25t. While we will not be solving equations this week, factoring a polynomial equation such as this helps us get one step closer to determining how long it took the rocket to reach its maximum height. One such factoring method is factoring by taking out a Greatest Common Factor (GCF).
Explain, in your own words, what a greatest common factor is. What is the GCF of the expression above? How would you factor this expression by removing the GCF?
