Problem: If you are looking at a graph of a quadratic equation, how do you determine where the solutions are?
The graph of a quadratic equation is a parabola. The solutions are
located where the graph crosses the x-axis for a parabola that opens
either upward or downward, or where it crosses the y-axis for a
parabola that opens either to the left or to the right. If the graph touches
the axis at one point, there is only one solution. If the graph does not
cross or touch the appropriate axis, there are no solutions.
