Question: how much was 50.000.00 in 1932 to todays money ?
I have found two sites that give helpful information.
1) This site gives the US dollar Brit exchange rate in 1932 as £0.29 = $1.00.
http://www.paper-dragon.com/1939/exchange.html
2) This site shows the rise in UK prices from inflation. A price/cost can be input to the calculator, for a particular year, which will then give the current price/cost.

Using 2), an item that cost £1.00 in 1932 now cost £59.01.
Using 1), £1.00 in 1932 would exchange with 1/0.29 dollars = $3.45.
The current exchange rate is £0.60 = $1.00 or, £1.00 = $1.67, (approx)
so £59.01 would exchange with 59.01/0.60 = $98.35.
1932 2014
£1.00 = $3.45 £59.01 = $98.35
So inflation would make $3.45 rise to $98.35, an increase of 98.35/3.45 = 28.507 (almost 30-fold)
Then $50,000 in 1932 would be worth $1,425,362.32 (50,000 * 28.507)
Caveat: This answer is educated guesswork. I am not an economist or financial expert, and if the above answer is incorrect, then it is still probably a good ball-park figure.
